NEW MEDIA CONTACT AT TRANSAT

Transat is pleased to announce the appointment of Jacques Bouchard as Manager, Media Relations. Jacques joins the Communications and Corporate Affairs team at Transat. In this role, he will act as Transat’s main contact and spokesperson with the media.

Before joining the Transat team, Jacques was Bell Canada’s spokesperson for Quebec. He also previously served in the Communications Department of the Société des alcools du Québec, as Press Secretary for the Quebec Minister of Transport and as an Information Officer for the City of Ottawa. The Tanzanian native grew up travelling around Africa (through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire as a child) and has a passion to continue promoting travel in Africa. MARRIOTT EXECUTIVE JOINS NCL AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, HOTEL OPERATIONS

NCL Corporation has announced that Dennis Nau has joined the company in the role of Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations.  Nau is an accomplished and highly seasoned hotel and resort executive, having worked with Marriott Hotels & Resorts since 1985. 

During his tenure at Marriott, Nau held a number of very senior roles including General Manager, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa and Hotel Manager and General Manager of the New York Marriott Marquis and the New York Marriott Eastside.

American Express Appoints Kaveh Atrak to lead Business Travel in Central Europe and Nordic regions

Germany, 3 March 2008 - American Express Business Travel today announced the appointment of Kaveh Atrak as vice president, general manager for Central Europe and Nordic regions, effective immediately.  The new role combines Kaveh’s current role as vice president and general manager, Nordic region with responsibility for Central Europe where he will succeed Marc Hildebrand who has made the decision to leave American Express to take up a role outside the company.

Popular director takes position at World Tourism Organization
caesar    César Castañeda resigned his position as director of the Mexican Tourism Board in Montreal and Toronto on January 31.  The move follows his nomination as Director of Operations for the World Center of Excellence on Tourist Destinations (CED), founded by the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

Castañeda said, “The CED represents a very important career opportunity as well as an honour for myself as a Mexican, to have been called upon by an important world organization for the tourism industry that I hold to heart”.
