12 FEB 2018: Fathom Communications announced a partnership with Choose Chicago, the official destination marketing organization for Chicago, effective February 1. The Oakville, Ontario, based company will be supporting the Choose Chicago team with strategic media relations, event management and media missions targeting consumer and trade outlets across Canada.

The “Windy City” played host to a record 55.2 million visitors last year, marking a 2.5 percent increase from the then-record 53.8 million people that visited in 2016.

Canada sent 456,100 visitors to Chicago in 2016 and the numbers for last year will soon be released.

Laura Johnston, president of Fathom Communications said, "Chicago offers Canadians world-class attractions, an incredible culinary scene, vibrant outdoor spaces, amazing festivals, sports, music and so much more - all accessible within a 90-minute flight from Toronto. We are excited to work with Choose Chicago's media relations team to help drive brand awareness in Canada and continue to set tourism records."
